As you will be aware, there have been more changes in regulations and advice around Covid-19 since I last posted in early September. However, the re-implementation of the “rule of 6” has not affected the number allowed on Stroud Rambling Club’s walks – still at 30 (maximum) since we restarted our regular rambles – because such leisure activities are exempt. So you should continue to look out for information emailed to members a few days before each organised walks. The walk leader will ensure that all coronavirus precautions are adhered to. Hopefully, this won’t change again before you read this!
As was mentioned earlier during the pandemic, some members may still be at home by themselves due to them being in some way vulnerable. If you are in this position – or you know someone in the club who is – please keep in touch and support one another.
Two casualties of the current crisis are the club’s AGM and the Christmas Dinner. The former will not take place, as it traditionally has done, this November. We hope to hold it as soon as possible in 2021. The annual Dinner may also be held, in a different month, next year.
Best wishes and Happy Walking,
Peter, Chair, SRC
